Coup plot vs. Duterte still a possibility, says Sec. Evasco

A coup d'etat against President Rodrigo Duterte remains a possibility, said Cabinet Sec. Leoncio Evasco.

This is because there are personalities not happy with the way Duterte is running the administration, such as Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV, he said.

However, Evasco said a coup plot will not prosper because Duterte enjoys a high trust rating.

Evasco did not reveal where he got the information about a brewing coup plot.

Trillanes denied he is behind any coup plot.

The Liberal Party has no comment yet on Evasco's statement.

The Armed Forces of the Philippines also did not give a statement since it is still verifying the information
