Baste Duterte on Dad's critics, Inday Sara's pregnancy

MANILA - President Rodrigo Duterte's youngest son, Sebastian, is unaffected by unrelenting criticism of his father, saying it comes with the territory.
The young Duterte, more popularly known by his nickname "Baste," said that with over two decades of public service under his father's belt, the family is used to critics.
"Not really, it's politics, it's gonna happen. I'm his son for 28 years. We had it coming. Alam niyo naman yun [You know that]," he told ABS-CBN News
While not entirely unaffected, the young Duterte said the family has learned to live with criticism.
"Of course, maaapektuhan ka naman; it's just that marunong ka lang maging numb [Of course you get affected. It's just that you learn how to get numb]."
Duterte also talked about his older sister, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte, who is coping with the loss of two of three unborn babies in her womb.

"She's okay, okay naman siya. Yes, she lost the twins but there is still one more so she's resting, she's always resting. Maybe trying to go to work, but not really working araw-araw siguro sa opisina [but not really working in the office everyday].

She needs to be careful to take care of the baby," he said.

At the launch of "Probinsaya," an art exhibit celebrating Mindanao's untold treasures on Thursday, Duterte remained unfazed by misconceptions surrounding Mindanao.
"We are proud. Whatever, you know like kung paano nila kami titignan [how we are seen], we're still Mindanaoans. We're proud of ourselves," he said.
